You can delete your iShort Captions account and the data we hold at any time. There are two ways.
Your account is deleted straight away.
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email aashishm20606@gmail.com from the address you used to sign in, with the subject "Delete my account".
We will delete your data within 30 days and confirm by reply.
To remove those, delete them in the app or uninstall it. Uninstalling does not delete your account, so use one of the options above for that.
We retain anonymised records of how many transcriptions were performed and when, with your account identifier removed, as a financial record of what our processing partners charged us.
We also keep a one-way fingerprint of your Google sign-in together with the number of free transcriptions used in the current month. This is the only way to stop the free monthly allowance being reset simply by deleting and re-creating an account. It is a salted, irreversible hash — it cannot be turned back into your email, name or user ID — it is never used to contact or profile you, and the count clears on the 1st of each month.
